WINDY EDGE FARMHOUSE

Windy Edge Farmhouse is ideally placed in a hamlet with two other cottages (Islestone and Nanny End) in the middle of Beadnell green, accessed by a country lane off Swinhoe Road. It is ideally situated to feel like you are in the middle of the countryside whilst relaxing in the cottage and garden, but a wander across the field for 5 minutes takes you to the pub or for a lovely meal at The Towers, The Craster or the Saltwater Cafe. Alternatively, 5 minutes walk the other way across the field and you are on the beach where you can relax or enjoy a lovely walk along the beach to the joiners arms (dog friendly). We the owners have never rented our house in the past, so it really does have everything a family with kids (and a dog) could ever need.

THE DESTINATION

Beadnell is a charming coastal village lying between rolling farmland and the dune fringed stretch of Beadnell Bay. Old cottages and pretty houses line the coastal road and in the summer the small harbour is filled with colourful boats.

Beadnell is the only west-facing harbour on the east coast, making it an enchanting place to watch the sun set. The bay is home to an important colony of little and Arctic terns that can be seen swooping overhead. It is very popular for all water sports lending itself to a host of activities such as surfing, sailing and scuba diving. There is a carpark close by and shower facilities available.

POSITIONING

Windy Edge Farmhousee is ideally located in the heart of Beadnell, 5 mins walk from the beach, pub, restaurant or 10 minutes to Bamburgh with its castle and golf course or Seahouses for amusements and horse riding and tennis. Being an old Farmhouse it is of course set in the middle of the field between the village itself and the Beach. It makes for a perfect mix of the hustle and bustle of Beadnell, with a little oasis back at the house with stunning views of the Cheviots, in a big walled garden.

THE GARDEN

The garden has a huge south west facing garden with stone wall which backs onto open fields (sometimes with cows and sheep in them) which has a big outdoor dining table and chairs and a barbeque. There is a trampoline in the garden (used at people's discretion, as owners we take no liability for accidents) and plenty of room for cricket, tennis or football. Alternatively just sit and enjoy the views of the Cheviots, or wander through the gate at the bottom of the garden for a 5 minute walk across the field, through the caravan site and onto the beach.
