ROCK COTTAGE

Rock Cottage really has it all. It has been refurbished to the highest specification with multi generational groups in mind, be it a special birthday, a wedding celebration, a family holiday or simply a get together with friends, there is lots of space for people to be together or to break away for a bit of quiet time to read a book in peace or contemplate the stunning views. The beauty of the house is that everything is in walking distance - be it the village store for all your essentials or the renowned Carters butchers for their Bamburgh bangers or hot steak pie. If people want to be active or simply relax, Rock Cottage has it all. We have tried to think of everything from Nespresso machine to sandwich toasters and we even have a warm water tap outside for the dog or sandy children to hose off after a day on the beach.

BAMBURGH

Bamburgh is one of the few seaside villages which is fully used all year round and Rock Cottage is ideally placed. For those who love their food and drink, a two minute walk will get you to the Wydenwell Ice Cream shop or the Copper Kettle tea room for homemade cake. For something a bit stronger simply pop into one of the three pubs for a sandwich and a drink for lunch or why not push the boat out at the Potted Lobster for some locally caught seafood, all within a five minutes walk.

PLENTY OF SITTING ROOMS FOR PEACE AND QUIET

There are 3 sitting rooms ensuring everyone can find their own private space. One sitting room is ideally suited to the younger generation with toys and board games, TV and Wii and the other more formal, again with comfy seating, ideal for some peace and quiet away from the hub of the house or to watch the coming and goings on the castle green.

In addition to downstairs is a bathroom with downstairs shower to help those with mobility issues or simply to get rid of sand after a day on the beach. The fifth bedroom is also located downstairs off the kitchen diner with lovely views over the garden and furnished in a more traditional style with parents and grandparents in mind.

THE GARDEN

The large, south facing, garden has also been renovated. Just step out of the bifold doors straight onto a huge terrace which has been tiled with wood affect ceramic tiles to match those indoors, making it a perfect spot for al fresco dining using the gas barbecue or watching the children play. The garden is mainly laid to lawn and south facing with stone walling all around giving it tranquility and privacy and making it a perfect suntrap. It has a large cast aluminium table with 10 chairs, plus two sun loungers, perfect to catch the sun all day.

The garden is fully enclosed and secure for dogs.

ACCESSIBILITY

Entrance on arrival to Rock Cottage is via the side door accessed via the garden.

In addition to downstairs is a bathroom with downstairs shower to help those with mobility issues or simply to get rid of sand after a day on the beach. WHAT TO DO

As far as sports go, there is so much to do. The tennis court is two minutes from the house or why not take advantage of the surf lessons on the beach? Bikes can be hired locally or bring your own and secure them to our bike rack in the car park at the back of the house. Bamburgh Castle golf course is a five minute drive away and offers a fabulous game of golf with the most stunning views of the castle, Budle Bay, Holy Island and of course the Cheviots.
